Crowe Chizek Gets New Name

Crowe Chizek has changed its name to Crowe Horwath to reflect the firm's membership in the Horwath International network.

The change went into effect Sept. 1, although the firm will continue to operate for a time under the name Crowe Chizek in the states where the name change application has not yet been approved. Crowe initiated the name change to emphasize its expanding capabilities to service clients with international needs.

The firm has serviced 350 international clients in more than 40 countries so far. It joined Horwath in 1991 and is the largest member firm in the network. Horwath has more than 140 independent accounting and management consulting firms as members, with offices in more than 400 cities around the world.

"The Crowe brand is strong in the United States, and the inclusion of the Horwath name further enhances both brands in the global marketplace," said Crowe CEO Chuck Allen (pictured) in a statement.
