Crowe Horwath Expands in California

Top 100 Firm Crowe Horwath LLP continues to carry out its strategic growth plans with its recent addition of the staff of California-based NewPoint Group.

The South Bend, Ind.-based firm initially started to branch out into Northern California in 2011 when it added local firm Perry-Smith LLP.

Crowe Horwath’s newest addition is located in Sacramento, and provides consulting services to state and local government throughout California. James Gibson and Edward Kaempf founded the firm in 1995 and will join Crowe Horwarth as directors.

NewPoint also offers management services, strategic planning, program evaluation and development, environmental consulting projects, process improvement and innovation, cost allocation and rate setting, and information technology feasibility analyses.

According to Crowe’s spokeswoman, after NewPoint wraps up a few existing contracts, its Web site will start directing people to Crowe’s Web site.

“Joining Crowe is the culmination of the more than 10 years we’ve spent working with Bob Perry-Smith and his team on large government projects,” Gibson said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to continuing that excellent relationship and working with other consultants at Crowe.”
