Accounting and consulting firm Dean Dorton Allen Ford, PLLC has expanded its presence in Kentucky by merging with Barr Anderson & Roberts, PSC, a CPA and advisory firm located in Lexington, Ky.
The merger takes effect Jan. 1, 2016. The combined firm will operate as Dean Dorton.
“The addition of BAR and their team helps us to better serve our growing practice,” said Dean Dorton president and CEO David Bundy in a statement. “We are enthusiastic about continuing the high level of service and expertise BAR has provided its notable client base.”
Financial terms were not disclosed. Dean Dorton, based in Lexington, Ky., ranked 11th on Accounting Today’s 2015 Regional Leaders list for the Southeast, with $21.07 million in annual revenue.
Barr Anderson & Roberts president and shareholder Christopher Anderson noted that his firm has grown significantly over the past 39 years since it started as Barr and Taylor in 1976, but his clients needed the services of a larger firm.
“With the combination of developing client needs and continuous growth, it was critical for us to find a way to continue providing high-quality service efficiently and effectively while providing clients with additional value through a broader range of specialty capabilities, advice and solutions,” he said. “In addition, we want to offer more opportunities for our employees and referral partners who are the backbone of our business.”
