Drake names Hubbs CEO, prez

Tax prep software maker Drake Software has named company veteran Tim Hubbs, CPA, as its president and chief executive. He replaces company founder Phil Drake, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board and as a technical consultant and software architectural advisor.

Hubbs has been with Drake since 1992, and most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

"I am confident that Tim, along with the great management team we have put together, will serve our customers well," Drake said in a statement announcing the change.

The company also promoted two managers to vice president. Jamie Stiles, a 21-year veteran at Drake, has moved into the vice president of e-filing and banking position. Brian Stork, a Drake Software developer/manager for nine years, has been named vice president of Windows and Web development.
