EDGAR Online Releases New XBRL Dataset

EDGAR Online Inc. has released its I-Metrix “As Reported” XBRL Dataset, which includes all the detailed information contained in every Form 10-K and 10-Q document furnished to the Securities and Exchange Commission in Extensible Business Reporting Language format.

The new dataset and associated analytical tools are designed to hide the complexity of XBRL, making it easy for users to access all information—including period and segment data, and footnote data—without having to search though filed documents.

The information in the dataset can be combined with industry and sector benchmarking data, historical data, analyst estimates and stock performance data already available with EDGAR Online's I-Metrix Professional Excel Add-in.

“As the leading producer of XBRL filings for the SEC, we’ve set the bar for the quality in the production of XBRL filings,” said David Goldstein, senior managing director of global product and market development of EDGAR Online. “With this dataset, we are now unlocking the true promise of XBRL for the consumption and analysis of data, providing analysts and investors with the same high-quality data used by the SEC,”

The I-Metrix "As Reported" XBRL Dataset includes more than 1,700 U.S. public companies and includes detailed information from the footnotes of the largest 500.
