Eide Bailly Becomes Intacct VAR

Major accounting and technology consulting concern Eide Bailly has formed a sales and marketing relationship with cloud financial management and accounting applications provider Intacct, in which the firm will offer traditional reseller and outsourced accounting services.

The firm had utilized Intacct for its business process outsourcing practice since May 2010 and is also a value-added reseller for competitor NetSuite, which Victor Puchi, CPA and director of accounting services for Eide Bailly, has known since their days as NetLedger. He stressed that both Intacct and NetSuite offer strengths in different areas and, as such, the firm can service a wider range of clients as both a VAR and virtual CFO.

“We’re not just a VAR for an accounting software package,” he said. “It’s about process improvement on the client side, and with the cloud you can bring more of the business process in than ever before, plus customization is off the charts and you can deliver enhanced reporting capabilities like never before as well. We can now be a more powerful consultant and offer a better operating system [than on-premise software] that can offer value forever, essentially. The teal push for accounting firms and businesses is going to the cloud, and this is about being a better business advisor, which is what accountants are trained to do.”

Until several years ago Eide Bailly had been a reseller for on-premise enterprise resource planning software, including Sage MAS 90 and Microsoft Dynamics GP. The firm sold that business as Puchi stressed more clients, as well as accounting firms, are looking to cloud-based business applications.

Puchi also noted that the firm sees Intacct’s customizable dashboards as a powerful tool for its clients, in particular those with more complex business models that rely heavily on key performance indicators to manage their business.

“I'm very excited to welcome another Top 25 CPA firm to the Intacct Business Partner Program,” said Taylor Macdonald, vice president of channels for Intacct. “We continue to see strong momentum in this area, as there are significant benefits for these firms using Intacct across both their accounting services and consulting practices. Eide Bailly has a strong reputation in the industry, and we expect our expanded relationship to deliver huge benefits across the board.”
