Eide Bailly expands to Texas by merging in Davis Kinard

Eide Bailly LLP is extending its reach to Texas, adding Davis Kinard & Co, PC, a firm with offices in Abilene, Haskell, Plainview and Seymour, effective Dec. 4, 2017.

The combination will add 11 partners and 80 staff members to Eide Bailly. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Eide Bailly, based in Fargo, N.D., ranked 19th on Accounting Today’s 2017 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $259.4 million in annual revenue.

“We’ve had our sights set on Texas for a while, and Davis Kinard & Co will be a great addition to the Eide Bailly family,” said Eide Bailly managing partner and CEO Dave Stende. “Texas fits with our growth strategy to expand west of the Mississippi and gives us a greater presence in banking, government and nonprofit, which are prominent industries for our firm. We are an innovative firm, always looking for better and different ways to serve our clients. We’re excited to be able to bring these services to more businesses in Texas and the surrounding regions.”

The firm has executed a number of mergers this past year, including Spring2 Technologies in Lehi, Utah; Hawkins Advisors in Orem, Utah; Roth & Co. in Des Moines, Iowa; and Langenhorst & Self-Merritt CPAs in Spokane, Wash. Last November, it merged in Daines Goodwin & Co. in Salt Lake City, and JW Advisors and Bryce Wisan’s CPA practice in Las Vegas. Last October, it added Rauch, Hermanson, Everroad and Rentschler in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Eide Bailly’s culture and array of services enticed Davis Kinard president and CEO Russell Guthrie to join his firm with theirs. “We’ll be able to grow with our clients by offering more resources and services like state and local tax, technology, forensics and cyber security,” he said in a statement. “In addition, our staff benefit with greater opportunities to advance their careers through training and specialization. Eide Bailly’s culture mirrors ours so we’ll continue to be active in our communities. We’re looking forward to joining the firm.”
