EisnerAmper Merges in Mallah Furman and Ueltzen & Company

EisnerAmper announced a pair of mergers Monday, with Mallah Furman in South Florida and Ueltzen & Company in California.

Both deals took effect on November 15. The merger with Mallah Furman will establish a presence for New York-based EisnerAmper in the South Florida market, adding offices in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, while the Ueltzen deal will add a presence in Sacramento for the firm.

Six members of the Mallah Furman shareholder group—Gary Dix, Barry Gould, Joe Berkovits, Curt Rosner, Arthur Unger and David Sloan—along with a team of more than 60 other professionals and staff, will become part of EisnerAmper.

“This next step affirms our growth strategy of striving to add the best people and finest resources to the firm in exciting and vibrant marketplaces,” EisnerAmper CEO Charles Weinstein said in a statement. “In Mallah Furman we see limitless potential, and we are extraordinarily pleased to welcome their team into the EisnerAmper family.”

EisnerAmper ranked 18th on Accounting Today’s 2015 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $282.5 million in annual revenue. Revenue figures for the other two firms and financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Mallah Furman specializes in serving clients in insurance, hospitality, professional services, construction and real estate, retail and telecom, among other industries.

“When our clients make business decisions, they count on us to be their trusted advisor,” said Dix, who has been managing director of Mallah Furman. “We listen to and understand their needs. Now, as part of EisnerAmper, we will be able to bring an amazing array of new resources to them to help them meet their goals.”

For the Ueltzen deal, the partner group of Michael Ueltzen, John Moyle and Ramona Farrell, along with a team of 15 professionals and staff, will become part of EisnerAmper’s Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services Group. Ueltzen, Moyle and Farrell, as well as the professional and support staff, will continue to work out of their existing offices in Sacramento and Los Angeles.

“The remarkably skilled professionals at Ueltzen & Company have set the highest standard in forensic accounting services including expert witness and consulting services at trial, mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiation sessions,” said Weinstein. “We are extremely pleased to welcome this excellent team to EisnerAmper’s Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services Group.”

Ueltzen & Company provides a wide range of forensic services to law firm, corporate, governmental, and accounting firm clients throughout the nation and California, as well as providing accounting, tax, and valuation services.

“For almost two decades, our firm has served clients nationally and throughout California, and I am proud of the successes we have achieved together,” said Ueltzen. “On behalf of my colleagues, I am truly looking forward to the opportunities for growth we have in front of us as we become part of EisnerAmper, a firm with extraordinary capabilities.”
