Two firms in New York State have merged, with EFP Group's Eldredge, Fox & Porretti combining with Carnevale Niles Whitney & Davis.
The combined firms will operate under Eldredge's name with a staff of 75. Financial details were not disclosed. EFP Group has offices in Rochester and Canandaigua, N.Y., while Carnevale has offices in Elmira and Corning, N.Y.
The business merger will enable Eldredge to expand its reach geographically. All of the current members of the Carnevale staff will become EFP Group employees. The addition of Carnevale also adds expertise in the government and nonprofit sectors to Eldredge, along with peer review services for accounting firms throughout New York State and Pennsylvania.
"It's our intention to grow our presence in the Carnevale region," said Robert Porretti, chairman of EFP Group, in a statement. "We see significant opportunity for EFP Group to bring the strengths and specialized expertise of a larger firm to individuals, businesses and institutions throughout Southern New York and Northern Pennsylvania. In particular, we'll be targeting organizations with needs too large for Carnevale to have tackled on its own."
The two firms have worked together for nearly a decade. EFP Group is a member of CPAmerica, a group of independent accounting firms that share their expertise. Carnevale has been a member of an affiliated network of smaller accounting firms called CPA Connect.
