FASB, GASB and FAF Start Tweeting

The Financial Accounting Foundation, the organization that oversees both the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, has joined Twitter to expand its communications outreach.

The social networking and micro-blogging site will enable constituents of the standard-setting bodies to follow the boards’ activities and important news on a real-time basis.

“We are always looking for ways to expand and enhance our outreach to constituents of the FAF, the FASB and the GASB,” said FAF president Teresa S. Polley in a statement. “Social media outlets such as Twitter allow us to have a real-time connection with our stakeholders. As these outlets evolve, we will remain committed to using these tools to expand our interaction and outreach.”
