Fathom acquired by Access Group

Fathom — a popular reporting, analysis and forecasting software used by many accountants — has been acquired by the Access Group, a British provider of business management solutions for small and midsized organizations.

Kerry Agiasotis, president of The Access Group Asia Pacific, said in a statement that the company admired the product Fathom had put out and the way they saw it as redefining the market when it comes to reporting, analysis and forecasting.

"As we welcome Fathom's employees, customers and partners to The Access Group, we will be looking to showcase what they do best around their innovation and technology, to our own customers," said Agiasotis in a statement.

Fathom will be paired with The Access Group's Workspace platform. This is the second acquisition the company has made recently, having purchased the Reckon Accounting Group in May. Both purchases, said Agiasotis, were part of an overall effort to build on its already-existing commitments to small and midsized organizations and accounting firms in Australia and New Zealand.

"Like Fathom, seeking to empower business success is embedded in The Access Group's DNA, which affirms our belief that this is the right next step for Fathom, our employees, and importantly, our customers," said David Watson, co-founder of Fathom, in a statement.
