This is the company’s second consecutive year as a CODiE finalist, winning last year for its CCH Mobile app in the Best Enterprise Mobile Application category. … Porte Brown LLC has been named as one of the 2015 Best Places to Work in Illinois. The program began in 2006 and is a combination survey, study and awards ceremony established to identify the top places of employment in Illinois. It is promoted by The Daily Herald Business Ledger in partnership with the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago, MRA-The Management Association, the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce and the Best Companies Group.

MARYLAND

Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra Chartered has been accepted as the exclusive Lutherville, MD member of the National Association of Non Profit Accountants and Consultants, a nationwide association of CPA firms that provide specialized accounting, tax and consulting services to nonprofit organizations. To be awarded membership in NPAC, firms must demonstrate proficiency and commitment to serving clients in the nonprofit industry.

NEW JERSEY

More than 30 financial and operating executives from New Jersey nonprofit organizations attended The Mercadien Group’s complimentary breakfast seminar, “The OMB Super Circular: What Does It Mean and How Will It Affect My Organization?” at its offices on March 31, 2015. Part of the firm’s long-running Nonprofit Revenue Enhancement Seminar Series, and qualified as continuing professional education (CPE), the two-hour forum identified the objectives and background of the reforms, effective last December; detailed the major new accounting, audit and administrative provisions with which nonprofits must comply; and addressed various implications and possible impact on the organizations’ operations and financials. … For more than five decades, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants has supported the study of accounting in high school and college. This year, NJCPA will award a record $565,000 in scholarships.

KPMG has been named a leader in the Forrester Research, Inc. report, The Forrester Wave™: Mobile Enterprise App Services Providers – Midsize Providers, Q1 2015. The report is intended to help companies select the right midsize partner to design, develop and deliver B2E and B2B employee and partner-facing mobile enterprise applications. This marks the second time in a month the KPMG global network has been recognized as a leader by a major independent research firm. In March, IDC MarketScape named KPMG a worldwide leader in Digital Enterprise Strategy Consulting.

NEW MEXICO

REDWLLC has formed the Alliance Benefit Group Southwest (ABG-Southwest), a separate company for retirement plan recordkeeping and third-party administration services. The change took effect earlier this year, when all REDW team members in the group transitioned to the new organization. Its name derives from the group’s established participation in Alliance Benefit Group, a nationwide network of independently owned retirement administration firms. Collectively, Alliance Benefit Group is one of the largest retirement plan administrator networks in the country providing administration services to more than 15,000 plans representing more than $56 billion in assets and over one million participants. In addition, REDWLLC had a significant presence as both a presenter and exhibitor at this year's annual Indian Gaming 2015 Conference, the premier event of the Indian Gaming industry hosted by the National Indian Gaming Association.
