Warren Averett’s team of Certified Public Accountants, business advisors and recruiters will collaborate with Redstone Government Consulting’s team of compliance experts, comprised of former senior DCAA personnel, government contracting industry veterans, as well as software and contract compliance experts.

FLORIDA

Abacus, of Miami, has added four new firms to its membership. New firms include, Norwood, Mass.-based QRGA LLP; Novak Francella LLC of Bala Cynwyd, Penn., Hi Fidelity Solutions Private Limited of Bangalore, India ; and KAP Teguh Heru & Rekan of Jakarta, Indonesia.

ILLINOIS

The Illinois CPA Society recently hosted the Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program for 25 minority college students interested in pursuing a career in accounting and obtaining the CPA credential. The program is unique in that it targets minority students from Illinois colleges and universities where accounting firms don’t typically recruit. Students engage with accounting professionals from industry and business and public accounting to learn what career opportunities are available, they enjoy interactive sessions with young professionals to learn the rigors of internships and entry-level accounting jobs, and they partake sessions about business etiquette, ethics, the CPA exam and team building.

MSI Global Alliance has appointment New York City-based firm RSSM CPA LLP to its membership.

NORTH CAROLINA

Employees of DHG came together in December 2014 to donate 3,400 hours of individual paid time off to aid Doctors Without Borders in the Ebola epidemic. The goal was to donate enough hours to max out the Firm’s commitment of a $50,000 donation which was easily met through the generosity of the DHG people.
