ALABAMA

Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith LLC is expanding into Huntsville, with a new office at 4245 Balmoral Drive. In addition, Jamey Carroll will be joining the firm as a member, and will be joining member Cynthia Hudson, tax manager Amy Stapler and the firm’s controller, David Brown on the Huntsville team. 

 

ARIZONA

Henry+Horne has ranked No. 20 on the Phoenix Business Journal’s annual list of corporate volunteer programs in Phoenix, with 732 hours donated to charitable activities -- over 100 more than the previous year. Henry+Horne has made the list three times, and is one of only three companies with less than 200 employees to make the list.

CALIFORNIA

Kornetsky, Levinson & Co. CPAs Inc., San Francisco, has joined CPAConnect, a companion association of CPAmerica International. … Magidov CPA Firm, Los Angeles, has joined CPAConnect, a companion association of CPAmerica International.

 

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro joined with Christian Community Action to prepare 2,300 bags of food for distribution to New Haven seniors and families in time for Thanksgiving Day. (See the story.

ITALY

Studio Taxlex has joined international accounting network HLB International. Established in 1999, the firm provides services across audit, accounting, tax advisory services and payroll.

 

MASSACHUSETTS

Sandler & Co. PC, Needham, has joined national accounting firm association Firm Foundation. The firm serves the financial services industry, providing audit and tax services to hedge funds, private equity funds, commodity pools, broker dealers and investment advisers. ... Rodman CPAs volunteered a day of service in late October at Hope and Comfort, a Newton-based nonprofit that provides essential personal care products to adults and children in need within Greater Boston. The Rodman team packed 488 hygiene kits containing soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, for distribution to students in Boston Public Schools (through Hope and Comfort's partnership with their Health and Wellness Department), as well as to Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, and the Waltham Boys and Girls Club.

NEW JERSEY

WithumSmith+Brown PC held its 5th Annual Withum Week of Caring, dispatching employees into their communities to volunteer during the three days before Thanksgiving, with staff helping 47 different charitable organizations and donating over 2,100 hours of time. Among the organizations where staff members volunteered were Homeless Solutions, the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center and Crisis Food Pantry, the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, IEP Youth Services, One Simple Wish, and the Embrace Kids Foundation.
