Firm Offers Turnaround Services to Small Businesses

Accounting firm Barfield Murphy Shank & Smith has formed a group to help restructure struggling small companies.

The regional firm has created the TurnAround Services Committee, or TASC Force, a team of skilled CPAs who will analyze a business’s financial issues and identify various opportunities to produce better results. Accountants at the firm will also work to resolve any of the company’s financial reporting errors.

The TASC Force provides services such as business health checkups, financial benchmarking, human resource management, credit underwriting data assistance, cash flow projections, cost control and other services to turn around financially stressed companies.

“The current slowdown in the economy creates both opportunities and challenges for all businesses,” said managing shareholder Don Murphy (pictured) in a statement.

He is leading the TASC Force, along with two other founding shareholders, Keith Barfield and John Shank.
