Mazars holds fourth annual Days of Service

Top 100 Firm Mazars USA recently held its fourth annual Days of Service, which sees staff members spending a full workday assisting local service organizations. Part of the firm's "We ARE Mazars" program, the Days of Service event encourages employees' personal growth and development through "Association, Respect and Excellence."

"We are very proud of how the Days of Service has grown over the last four years to become the hallmark in giving back to our communities," stated Victor Wahba, chairman and CEO of Mazars USA. "This program offers a tremendous opportunity to work collectively while helping those outside of our offices, all while supporting charities and organizations in our local communities."

Approximately 575 staff members spent the day helping more than 30 community and nonprofit programs across New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Philadelphia, Sacramento and Chicago. Held on May 30, June 8 and June 13, activities included:

  • Working with New York City school children, including a dance exploration workshop, a scavenger hunt with students, building inventions using cardboard and celebrating fitness.
  • Assisting the Make-a-Wish Foundation of New Jersey by helping prepare for its annual fundraising gala.
  • Participating with several organizations and schools in cleaning up, planting and gardening, and helping with restoration projects.
  • Partnering with the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island to prepare meals for families staying at the House.
  • Assisting Cradles to Crayons by sorting and packaging donations to be distributed.
  • Repackaging donated foods and other products for The Greater Chicago Food Depository to be distributed to soup kitchens, shelters and food pantries.

Dixon Hughes Goodman holds seventh annual 'Count the Cans' food drive

Dixon Hughes Goodman recently hosted its seventh annual "Count the Cans" food drive to help the firm's local communities. Over the 10-day campaign, DHG staff members raised over $76,000 for hunger relief organizations, as well as volunteered nearly 1,000 service hours at local food banks.

“Our people truly care about serving and giving to those in our local communities who are facing the fight with hunger; that fight is real, especially for many school aged children during the summer months,” said Matt Snow, DHG's CEO, in a statement. “It’s gratifying to see such tremendous support from our firm coming together to make an impact through Count the Cans.”

Rodman CPAs cleans Camp Clark grounds for campers

For the fourth consecutive year, Rodman CPAs of Waltham, Mass., helped clean the campgrounds of the local Camp Clark, an Old Colony YMCA-sponsored recreation camp in Plymouth, Mass.

On June 7, Rodman CPAs volunteered to clean up Camp Clark grounds for the 1,000 youth campers attending in August. The team of 13, including president Steve Rodman, spent some 78 hours building picnic tables, preparing the archery areas and mulching.

"Camp Clark helps build brighter futures by encouraging campers to discover their potential. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support their efforts each year," said Rodman, in a statement.

Protiviti holds fifth annual U.S. Intern Day of Service

Protiviti will be holding its fifth annual U.S. Intern Day of Service on Friday, July 20, featuring over 500 interns and staff members volunteering in 23 cities across the country.

Organizations being helped include: Blessings in a Backpack (Chicago); Rise Against Hunger (Charlotte); Dallas Life; Keeping Tampa Bay Beautiful; Lifelong AIDS Alliance (Seattle); Ronald McDonald House (Kansas City), and more.
