Gettry Marcus CPA P.C. has merged in MLGW LLP, expanding Gettry Marcus’s presence in New York City and adding a financial services niche practice.

The deal took effect on January 1. As part of the deal, MLGW partners Peter S. Marx, Bruce T. Lange and Lester Weingarten will join Gettry Marcus as partners, along with 10 staff members, and will continue to provide services to their existing clients as well as new Gettry Marcus clients. As a result of the merger, Gettry Marcus will also add a new niche practice area in financial services, enhancing the Woodbury, N.Y.-based firm’s capabilities. MLGW dates back to 1972 and offers a broad range of services for a diverse client base in a variety of industries.

“This merger will provide benefits to the clients and employees of both firms,” said Gettry Marcus managing partner Steven L. Marcus in a statement. “Gettry Marcus has the infrastructure needed to operate in a competitive environment.  We will work together as one firm continuing the tradition for excellent service, deep expertise and our promise to bring value to our clients.”

Gettry Marcus ranked 28th on Accounting Today’s 2015 Regional Leaders list for the Mid-Atlantic region, with $17.68 million in annual revenue.
