Goldstein Schechter Merges with Koch Reiss

South Florida accounting firms Goldstein Schechter Price Lucas Horwitz & Co. and Koch Reiss & Co. have merged.

The merger, which occurred Jan. 1, resulted in a combined firm called Goldstein Schechter Koch. The new firm will be based in Goldstein Schechter's original headquarters in Coral Gables, according to the South Florida Business Journal, but will retain Koch Reiss's offices in Hollywood, Fla.

"This merger fits into the strategic growth plans for both companies," said Howard Lucas, CEO of Goldstein Schechter Koch, in a statement. "It offers former GSPLH the gateway to Broward County to better serve clients and former KR the gateway to Dade to better reach and serve their clients."

Koch Reiss dates back to 1975 and offers accounting, tax, auditing, financial planning and other services. Goldstein Schechter offers accounting, assurance, attest, tax compliance and research, business valuation and other services. GSK is associated with worldwide with the BDO Seidman Alliance.
