Three partners and another 50 professionals from GR Consulting’s office in Jenkintown, Pa., will join Grant Thornton. GR Consulting specializes in offering business advisory services in the northeastern U.S.

Grant Thornton plans to add the GR Consulting professionals to its business advisory services team, leveraging their skills in governance and risk management, internal audit, operations improvement and information technology.

Grant Thornton will maintain GR’s old office in Jenkintown. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“This transaction will result in a significant increase in our BAS capabilities in the Northeast region, with outstanding potential for additional growth,” said Joe Goodman, Grant Thornton’s regional BAS practice leader, in a statement. “It also provides us with a greater depth of technical and industry experience to support our client needs and strategies.”

In addition to its clients from the Northeast, GR Consulting also has global clients in Europe and Asia that Grant Thornton will inherit.
