GRF Appoints Locastro as Partner

Richard Locastro has been named the newest partner at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman.

Locastro has worked as tax principal in the firm’s nonprofit department since 2007. He oversees the firm’s team of tax professionals who provide consulting and tax compliance services to more than 500 nonprofit organizations. He coordinates tax planning and consulting services, return preparation and representation on IRS audits.

Locastro has more than 25 years of experience providing tax services to tax-exempt organizations. Prior to joining GRF, he was a senior manager for KPMG’s Exempt Organizations Tax Practice for the Baltimore/Washington region and as KPMG’s national director for Nonresident Alien Tax Compliance. He also spent six years working in the Washington, DC National Tax Offices of KPMG and PwC. His clients included private foundations, colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, museums and other large nonprofit institutions.

Locastro is a member of the AICPA, the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs. He is licensed as a CPA in New York State and Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, magna cum laude, from Le Moyne College, Syracuse, NY and his JD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
