Scholarships ranged from $1,300-$5,000 each, with a total $112,333 awarded to over 50 accounting students representing 15 universities and colleges across the state. Another $3,000 was donated by GSCPA chapters, bringing the total to $115,333.
The honored students were selected based on their desires to secure an accounting career, as well as their own academic achievements.
“Foundation programs raise awareness of the CPA profession while educating students about the value of a career as a CPA,” stated Beverly Smith, president of The Educational Foundation.
Since its inception in 1957, the Educational Foundation has striven to identify CPA hopefuls and assist them in making their educational dreams a reality.
