Global CPA and business advisory firm Grant Thornton has acquired the Disputes and Investigations Practice of Huron Consulting.
Terms were not disclosed. Grant Thornton said 60 Huron professionals will join GTs Economic and Advisory Services units in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, effective immediately. That unit is headed by Larry Redler.
Specialty services under the Huron D&I umbrella include business disputes, business interruption analysis, economic analysis, forensic accounting, and intellectual property disputes, among others.
Grant Thornton chief executive Stephen Chipman said that more M&A could be in the offing: We plan to double our revenues through both organic growth and strategically aggressive mergers and acquisitions. Our balance sheet is healthy and we are in a position to attract similar talent going forward.
