Harper & Pearson Add Local Tax Practices

Harper & Pearson Co., an auditing and business consulting firm based here, has merged two regional tax-consulting practices under its brand - Cabaniss, Horn & Passmore, and Kathy B. Devine Co.

Terms were not disclosed.

Principal Kathy Devine, formerly president of Kathy B. Devine Co., will serve as a shareholder in H&P's tax department, overseeing tax and financial planning for privately held businesses and their officers, as well as financial planning for physicians, self-employed professionals and retired professionals.

Nathan Cabaniss, former president at Cabaniss Horn & Passmore, will provide tax consulting for high-net-worth individuals.

With 11 professionals, the 42-year-old firm offers attest services, litigation support, business valuation and tax compliance.
