Intacct Introduces Flex Reporting Product

Intacct has unveiled Flex Reporting, a new tool designed to allow CFOs and financial consultants to manage performance, look at financial metrics -- particularly accounting measures -- and performance related information unique to an organization.

With Intacct Flex Reporting, finance teams and their business partners can review income statements and balance sheets broken down by key business drivers. They can also go beyond strict accounting and financial measures to report on non-GAAP, operational metrics that are important to their organizations.

Intacct has also designed new, custom dimensions that user-defined, so companies will be able to understand and manage what’s uniquely important to their business. In order to ensure that the right transactions are tagged with valid values, accounting can maintain complete oversight and control over how dimensions are used.

In addition, a new Intacct report writer was purpose-built for Intacct’s flex-dimensional general ledger. This unique interface, which requires no coding experience or technical knowledge, walks users through the steps to create financial reports. Each step includes overview information and contextual help to ensure users understand what they are doing and can get the most from the system.

“Often times the financial system of record can’t do these kinds of tasks or you have to design a work around. There’s no more need to do that with Flex Reporting in order to get a complete view of business metrics,” said Intacct’s vice president of product management Dan Miller. “The business metrics you get in Flex Reporting are as accurate and up to data as your financial reporting. There’s nothing out there off the shelf with this level of integrity, what people are doing is trying to use expensive, external reporting tools.”

Miller also noted that Flex Reporting was designed for CFOs, as well as accountants doing outsourced financial work.

“We believe this [tool] will make it easy for them to glean the insight they need and not have to jump through many hoops,” added Miller. “They will have the insights to look at data in many different ways.”

Intacct Flex Reporting will go into preview with a select group of customers with the Intacct Spring 2013 release later this month. It will be generally available through Intacct and its channel partners with the Summer 2013 release this August.
