Intuit rolls out new features for QBOA

During its QuickBooks Connect event, accounting and business software provider Intuit announced several new features for QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Among the changes:

  • The Books Review feature will now include support for bulk transaction processing;
  • Client Request will now let users view and retrieve transaction-level information provided by clients no matter where they are in QuickBooks. They can also create new requests if further information is needed from the Accountant Toolbox.
  • Information capture and document storage now includes folders, document types and contextual notes.

Intuit also plans to eventually add a feature for custom roles with different permissions for different teams. Users will be able to choose from popular role types such as "Sales manager," "Payroll manager," or "Admin," or modify roles to meet the unique needs of their firms.
Intuit also announced planned improvements to QuickBooks Commerce Accounting, including adding a consolidated dashboard that provides information on inventory, cost of goods sold, performing stocktakes, and sales order tracking.

There are also new integrations and features for QuickBooks itself. They include Spreadsheet Sync, which enables two-way syncing with Excel and the Custom Report Builder with Chart View. Revenue Recognition and Project Estimates vs. Actuals were also introduced.

There is also a new ProAdvisors portal, first available in the U.S., to better access training. New content will be added on an ongoing basis to help ProAdvisors grow their skills and knowledge across the QuickBooks platform and the accounting profession as a whole.
