IRS Gives Out Free Small Business Tax CDs

The Internal Revenue Service is sending out free copies of its CD-ROM, the Small Business Resource Guide, to help small business owners comply with federal tax laws, and it's ready to ship them in bulk.

The CD covers a broad range of topics, all the way from starting to closing down a business. It also includes business tax forms, instructions, publications and all the tax law changes for 2007. Along with tax-related information, the CD contains Web links to various government agencies, business associations and IRS organizations.

Individual copies may be ordered online. The IRS has many, many of the CDs on supply, however, and is looking to deplete them before the 2008 edition comes out in April. Multiple copies are available for IRS stakeholders and business associates and for outreach events.

To receive two or more boxes of 100 CDs each, interested parties can send their contact name, mailing address and the number of boxes requested to joel.klein@irs.gov. All the orders will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
