IRS will hold first in-person tax forums since 2019

The Internal Revenue Service plans to host a series of five nationwide tax forums this summer in a return to the in-person format it used to favor prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The IRS announced Thursday that registration for this summer's 2023 IRS Nationwide Tax Forums is now open in five cities — New Orleans; Atlanta; National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington, D.C.; San Diego; and Orlando, Florida — marking the first time since 2019 that the IRS has gone back to the in-person format after holding the annual event virtually during the pandemic.

For over three decades, the forums have been the IRS's main outreach event to the tax pro community. Each of the five IRS Nationwide Tax Forums is a three-day event with more than 40 seminars and workshops on a wide variety of federal and state tax issues presented by experts from the IRS and partner organizations from the tax community.
