Stacie Wilson (pictured, right), a partner and COO at Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Lloyd in McPherson, received the Emerging Leader Award, while Denise Peterson (pictured, left), a principal at the same firm, received the Experienced Leader Award.

"Being a leader is about knowing who you are, knowing your value, and then doing what you can to add value to those around you," said Wilson in a statement. "There is such a need for this in our world today, not just in our profession. We need men and women both to embrace this role so that together we can navigate the changes that our profession and the communities in which we live must make over the coming years."

"Accounting is a unique, flexible profession that provides the opportunity for anyone willing to learn and work, while being respectful of others (clients & coworkers), to be a wildly successful leader positively impacting others, regardless of gender," added Peterson in a statement.
