KPMG Consulting Finalizes Andersen Deal in France

   

McLean, Va. (Sept. 13, 2002) -- KPMG Consulting said it has completed its acquisition of Andersen's business consulting unit in France. Terms were not disclosed.The Andersen unit employs approximately 800 people and generated net revenue of nearly $100 million in fiscal year 2002. KPMG Consulting is made up of nearly 16,000 people around the world, with annual revenues of approximately $2.4 billion.

"This transaction further completes the global footprint we have been establishing," said KPMG Consulting chairman and chief executive, Rand Blazer. "Combined with our recent acquisition of the German, Swiss and Austrian consulting practice of KPMG Consulting AG, we now have a solid foothold in the European market."
