Lewis & Knopf to Merge in Haggerty

Michigan accounting firms Lewis & Knopf CPAs PC, and Thomas R. Haggerty CPA PC have combined forces.

As part of the merger deal, Haggerty’s firm will change its name to Lewis & Knopf CPAs. The deal took effect on Sept. 27.

Lewis & Knopf is a local mid-market accounting firm based in Flint, Mich. The firm specializes in the construction, manufacturing, distribution, professional services, retail, and not-for-profit sectors. It employs 40 professionals in the Flint area.

“We view this merger as a significant benefit for clients of both firms, as well as our employees,” said Lewis & Knopf managing principal Anita Abrol in a statement. “Combining our resources and knowledge base is a tremendous win for our clients.”

Thomas R. Haggerty CPA PC was established in 1997. The firm primarily serves small to midsized businesses and individuals in the Livingston, Washtenaw and surrounding communities. It will retain its office in Brighton, Mich.

“Our first priority has always been to provide the best service possible to our clients,” said president Tom Haggerty. “We feel confident this merger enhances our ability to fulfill this objective. We believe this move allows us to more effectively serve as a trusted advisor to our clients.”
