Dent Baker Merges with Moses Phillips to Form Dent Moses
Details: Dent, Baker & Company, LLP is joining forces with CPA firm Moses, Phillips, Young, Brannon, & Henninger LLP, to create Dent Moses, LLP, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

The professionals and staff of Moses, Phillips will join Dent Baker in their offices in Homewood, Ala., late next year.

“The outstanding reputation and comparable values of Dent Baker were key factors in this decision,” Moses partner Barry Brown said in a statement. “Their depth of knowledge and their outstanding client service will be a real plus for Dent Moses.”

The combined firm will provide a variety of accounting, tax and consulting services to clients throughout the region, as well as technology consulting through its subsidiary Impact Technology Group.

“For over six decades, our firm has served clients in Birmingham and throughout the region,” said Dent Baker managing partner Michael Baker. “I am proud of the successes we have achieved together. I am looking forward to our continued success and growth as Dent Moses.”

TGM Group Merges in Anthony Walter Duncan
Details: Accounting firms TGM Group LLC, based in Salisbury, Md., and Anthony Walter Duncan LLP, based in Easton, Md., have merged, effective November 1.

The combined firm will operate under TGM’s name.

AWD originated in 1973 as a division of Anthony Company. AWD offers tax, accounting and consulting services. AWD’s professionals will continue with their current positions at the Easton office.

AWD managing partner Corey Duncan, CPA, said the news is a step forward for both firms. “We have had a great working relationship for years and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together,” he said in a statement. “Merging with TGM Group LLC will bring greater knowledge, resources and additional industry insight and experience for our associates an d clients. We look forward to what the future holds.”

TGM Group LLC is a full-service CPA firm that provides corporate and personal tax, auditing, accounting and financial consulting services. The firm will maintain its existing staff and its office in Salisbury.

“Bringing our two firms together will enhance our mission to bring personalized, value-added services to all our clients,” said TGM Group managing partner Herb Geary. “We are constantly growing as a firm bringing a new level of knowledge and expertise to the work we do. McCarthy, Rose & Mills Merges in John F. White
Details: McCarthy, Rose & Mills has merged in John F. White, PC, a CPA and wealth management practice, and is relocating to Frisco, Texas.

The merger is effective immediately, and the combined firm will operate under MRM’s name.

“We immediately realized that our cultures were a perfect fit,” said MRM partner Brett E. Mills in a statement. “Expanding our services into wealth management allows us to provide our clients with a more robust advisory offering. It is a natural expansion of our accounting, assurance, tax, and consulting practice.”

John F. White began his practice in 1975 in Plano, Texas. He primarily serves the retail, wholesale, legal, financial, plan administrators, manufacturing, restaurant, and health care industries by providing tax, accounting, back-office support and wealth management services to clients.

“In today’s world of constantly changing tax regulations and technological requirements, we are excited to merge with a firm that is an industry leader,” said White.

In addition to this merger, MRM is relocating its office to the “5 Billion Dollar Mile,” an area in Frisco, Texas that is experiencing a large influx of corporate relocations.  In recent months, Toyota, FedEx, J.P. Morgan Chase, Liberty Mutual, and the Dallas Cowboys have announced plans to move to the area. MRM’s Frisco office will open in the first quarter of next year.

“Our firm has served clients in Dallas and North Texas for 50 years, and we look forward to continue doing so for the next 50 years,” said MRM managing partner John B. Mills, Jr. “Relocating to such an exciting community is in alignment with our firm’s growth goals, as well as our desire to provide a great ‘live, work, play’ environment for our employees.”
