KNEG merges in A.J. Brackins

Details: Kmetz, Nuttall, Elwell, Graham PLLC is merging in the practice of A.J. Brackins CPA PA. Financial terms were not disclosed. As part of the merger, Brackins will move his practice to KNEG's offices in Vero Beach.

 

ILLINOIS

Plante Moran, Blackman Kallick merge

Details: Top 100 Firm Plante Moran has merged in the largest independent firm in Chicago, Blackman Kallick. Together, the two firms employ 2,000 staff members in 22 offices in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio, and three offices internationally, in China, Mexico and India. Combined revenue for the firms in 2011 was approximately $375 million. The combined firm will have three Chicago-area offices serving more than 5,000 clients, and will be known as Plante Moran in about six months. Until then, both firm names will be used in the combination with a special co-branded logo.

 

MARYLAND

MKS&H and Callan & Palmer combine

Details: McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond has affiliated with Hunt Valley-based Callan & Palmer. The Callan & Palmer associates will be integrated this month under the MKS&H name, adding extra small-business advisory and tax expertise to MKS&H's Hunt Valley office.

 

PENNSYLVANIA

E&Y adds infrastructure advisory firm

Details: Big Four firm Ernst & Young's U.S. Transaction Advisory Services practice has acquired Jeffrey A. Parker & Associates Inc., a Philadelphia-based advisory firm that focuses on infrastructure.

 

OHIO

SS&G forms mgmt. consulting unit

Details: Top 100 FirmSS&G has merged in The Parkland Group, a Cleveland-based management consulting firm, to create SS&G Parkland Consulting LLC, which will focus on services such as business bankruptcies and turnarounds. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Larry Goddard, who served as president of The Parkland Group, has become managing director of SS&G Parkland Consulting.

 

CSH acquires Fentress & Barnes

Details: Top 100 Firm Clark Schaefer Hackett has acquired Columbus-based Fentress & Barnes, and anticipates combined revenue of approximately $50 million. The acquisition has increased CSH's Columbus employee presence from 28 to 70. Todd Fentress and Aram Moore of Fentress & Barnes have become CSH shareholders. Fentress now serves as the Affordable Housing Industry Group chair.

 

TEXAS

MFR merges in R&M Global Advisors

Details: Accounting firm MFR said that it is merging R&M Global Advisors into its MFR Solutions consulting team, building its international and Latin American reach.The merger took effect on July 1 and involves the addition of three principals: Spurgeon Robinson, Carlos Ryerson and Eric Marin. Terms were not disclosed.

Ryan acquires TAARP Group

Details: Tax services firm Ryan has acquired the TAARP Group LLP, a tax and penalty review firm, for an undisclosed sum. TAARP Group founders David Veeder, Mark Ely and David Miller will join Ryan as principals.

Weaver merges in Delong Consulting

Details: Weaver has merged with Delong Consulting Services, which offers compliance and risk management services to financial institutions. Founder Bill Delong will join Weaver as a partner. His team, including 11 staff, will join the Weaver offices in Dallas and Fort Worth.

 

WASHINGTON

Gallina expands in Washington

Details: Top 100 Firm Gallina LLP announced that it will merge with Seattle-based Merrill Carlson PLLC, which will operate under a new name, Gallina Merrill Carlson LLP, while MC founders Kirk Merrill and Eldon Carlson will join the Gallina partner group, along with Chris Carlson. Gallina will move its current Seattle area office to Merrill Carlson's office.
