MACPA's CEO Honored by Walsh College

Peggy Dzierzawski, president and CEO of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, to receive the Walsh College Jeffery W. Barry Award for Educational Excellence and Community Service.

[IMGCAP(1)]The award will be presented at the Walsh College annual Leadership Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 10.

The award, named after long-time Walsh College president Jeffery Barry, goes to individuals who demonstrate leadership in their profession and a commitment to the community through philanthropic efforts.

Dzierzawski started her career at the MACPA in 1974 and became deputy executive director in 1992. By 1997 she became the organization’s president.

“We are so proud of Peggy Dzierzawski,” Judith Trepeck, COO of the MACPA said in a statement. “She has committed herself to this MACPA for nearly four decades and it is a pleasure to see all of her hard work rewarded.”

During Dzierzawski’s tenure as president and CEO the MACPA and its members have partnered with several community-based organizations, including the Accounting Aid Society and Komen Detroit Race for the Cure.
