MFR Merges in R&M Global Advisors

Accounting and consulting firm MFR said Tuesday that it is merging R&M Global Advisors into its MFR Solutions consulting team, building the Houston-based firm’s international and Latin American reach.

The merger took effect on July 1 and involves the addition of three principals from Houston-based R&M: Spurgeon Robinson, Carlos Ryerson and Eric Marin. Robinson, as principal-in-charge, will lead administrative, business development and strategic planning activities, in addition to public sector advisory services and program management consulting efforts. Roland Rodriguez will continue as the managing principal of MFR.

The two firms had been in talks about a merger for several months, according to spokesperson Cynthia Roth. The merger is expected to advance both firms’ long-term strategies of expanding the consulting practice in the public, commercial, energy and international sectors. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are confident that joining forces will allow both organizations to compete more effectively and better serve our growing international client base,” Rodriguez said in a statement. He noted that the combined firm will continue to use the MFR brand built over the past 24 years.
