MYOB released FirstEdge V.3, the latest version of its entry-level small business management and accounting software application for Mac OS X, with universal Mac support so it’s designed to run on both Intel-based and PowerPC-based Mac machines.
MYOB has been moving its products steadily toward universal Mac compatibility. The company’s AccountingEdge product went universal in late 2006 and its AccountingEdge Network Edition did the same in early 2007.
MYOB added other features to V.3, including the ability to sync contacts between FirstEdge and OS X’s address book, a two-year budgeting tool, and enhanced reporting. The software can now hold up to seven years of transaction history and offers improved auditing and financial control tools.
Users can combine accounts and account cards now. MYOB has also made changes to the credit card processing features, and improved FirstEdge’s import and recurring-transaction features.
