NYSSCPA Appoints Falbo as President-elect

Joseph Falbo has been tapped as president-elect for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

“The NYSSCPA has been my professional home since I began my career. It is an honor and extremely humbling to be asked by my peers to assume the role of president-elect. I look forward to working with the other officers and volunteers to represent this outstanding group of CPAs,” Falbo said.

Falbo, a native of Rochester, NY, is a partner and member of the executive committee at Tronconi Segarra & Associates LLP in Williamsville, NY. He has been a member of the Society since 1994 and is a current member of the Buffalo Chapter.

Falbo's service to the Society includes his current position as a member of the Audit Committee. He previously served on the board of directors as Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Executive Committee member and has been the Chair of the Chapter Task Force and the Finance, Governance, Information Technology and Nominating committees.

His previous chapter service includes tenure as Buffalo Chapter president, president-elect, vice President and as an executive board member; past chair of the chapter’s Technology Committee and a founding member of the Young CPA Committee.

Falbo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting from Niagara University in Lewiston and was recognized in 2004 by Buffalo’s Business First newspaper with a “40 Under Forty” Award. In 2012 he received the Society’s Special Recognition Award, which acknowledges individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the NYSSCPA.

He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Falbo is a member of the AICPA Council, as well as, the Private Company Practice Section executive committee.
