NYSSCPA looking for next CEO

The New York State Society of CPAs announced that it has retained a search firm Sterling | Martin Associates to begin the search for its next chief executive officer and executive director.

The executive director and CEO handles the management and day-to-day operations of the society, and works with the board to ensure its value to members and that it accomplishes its mission and vision.

Current executive director and CEO Joanne Barry announced in October that she would be stepping down in May 2022, at the end of the society’s fiscal year. She has been with the NYSSCPA for over 40 years, and served in her current role since 2010.

SMA is a national executive search firm specializes in working with associations and nonprofit organizations, and has worked with the California Society of CPAs and the American Red Cross, among others.
