Orlando CPA Firms Merge

Averett Warmus Durkee has merged its practice with Osburn, Henning and Co.

The merged entity, Averett Warmus Durkee Osburn Henning CPAs, now has approximately 100 employees and provides assurance, tax and consulting services to clients throughout Florida. The combined client base includes agribusiness, banking, timeshare, real estate, construction, governmental and not-for-profit entities. The firm’s executive committee will consist of Tom Durkee, Ed Hofma, Ron Person, Steve Petosa and Jim Warmus. Warmus will continue to serve as CEO.

Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed. The combined firm will have nearly 100 employees, with Averett contributing 63 employees and Osburn 36.

“Our decision to merge at this time is reflective of each firm’s desire to offer expanded opportunities for employees and increased resources for clients, including membership with the PKF North American Network of independent CPA firms,” said Warmus in a statement. “We have become bigger and better as a result of the merger.”

“We are thrilled about what this merger means in terms of capabilities,” said Richard Pilhorn, a partner at Osburn, Henning and Co. “Our combined strength means we can provide a wide array of large-firm services without the overhead of a national company.”
