PCAOB Redesigns Web Site

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has launched a redesigned and expanded Web site.

The new site incorporates Web usability practices aimed at helping users find information more quickly. “The redesigned Web site enhances the PCAOB’s transparency efforts by making registration, inspection, standard-setting and enforcement information more accessible and user-friendly to the investors, auditors and other interested parties who use our site,” said acting PCAOB chairman Daniel L. Goelzer in a statement.

The site features a new layout, updated content organization, and an improved search function to provide more intuitive navigation. Pages that are viewed most often, according to feedback surveys and Web-site usage reports, now are accessible directly from the home page. New pages have been added for information about the PCAOB’s international program and research and analysis activities.

The new look and layout are also designed to accommodate users with special needs in accessing information on the Internet. The site allows users to change font size, convert to a black-and-white screen display, and use adoptive browsers and screen readers.

Subscribers to PCAOB listserv e-mail notifications will find a new option to receive updates directly through RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, feeds. During this transition, the PCAOB will maintain its current listserv.
