FLORIDA

Alex Fortner has joined CBIZ as a senior assurance associate. Roman Milewski joined the firm as an assurance associate at the firm’s Tampa Bay office. Fortner holds his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ohio University. He previously worked as an assurance senior at Gilmore Jasion Mahler LTD in Ohio. Milewski holds his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems from Queens College in New York. He previously worked as an Assurance Associate with Marks Paneth LLP in New York. Karen Tillie-Malkiewicz has joined the firm as a tax associate. Tillie-Malkiewicz holds her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from the University of South Florida. She is also a CPA. Tillie-Malkiewicz has spent the past ten years as Treasurer, Home and School Association, with Holy Family Catholic School in St. Petersburg. Prior to this she held various accounting roles, including senior associate and manager roles, with both Big 4 and smaller CPA firms in Tampa.

ILLINOIS

Renee Andrews-Tushinski has been elected to director at Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. Andrews-Tushinski has been with ORBA since 2005 and spends much of her time on trusts, estates and working with high net worth clientele while focusing on areas of taxation and wealth management. She also has experience with her clients' investment partnerships and family foundations. She is a member of the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society and the Wisconsin CPA Society. Andrews-Tushinski received her B.S. in Accounting from Ramapo College, New Jersey. … Daniel Rahill has joined Alvarez & Marsal Taxand as a managing director. Rahill will continue building the firm’s tax practice in the city and region while serving multinational clients seeking world-class tax advisory services.

KENTUCKY

Michael Fillman has been promoted to supervisor in the audit and assurance division of Riney Hancock CPAs. He joined Riney Hancock CPAs in 2013 and provides auditing and assurance services for utilities, HUD-Assisted entities, governmental entities and non-profit organizations. Fillman is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master’s Degree in Accounting. He is a CPA and a member of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Michael serves as Treasurer of the Board for Aid the Homeless, Inc. Taylor Edge was promoted to staff accountant II in the audit and assurance division of Riney Hancock CPAs. She joined the firm in 2014. Edge provides auditing and assurance services for community banks, utilities, HUD-assisted entities, governmental entities and non-profit organizations.

NEW YORK

Marks Paneth’s partner Michele Lazzara, has been elected president of the NYSSCPA’s Westchester chapter. The NYSSCPA serves as an advocate and resource for New York State certified public accountants by representing and cultivating the profession's core values of integrity, professionalism and ethics.

PENNSYLVANIA

Erica Thornton has joined Rotz & Stonesifer as a manager where she will be responsible for accounting, auditing and financial statement preparation, as well as business and personal tax preparation. Adam Cosden joined the firm as an audit manager. Cosden will assist the firm’s audit staff with audit and assurance services, management advisory services, financial accounting and tax planning and compliance to a variety of industries.

TEXAS

Heidi Bullard has been promoted to manager at Better Bookkeepers.
