CALIFORNIA

Ray Iler, former regional leader of Deloitte's hedge fund practice on the West Coast, has joined the Financial Services Organization's Wealth & Asset Management practice of Ernst & Young LLP. Iler, who also served as the lead of Deloitte's Emerging Manager Platform, will provide professional services to EY's hedge fund, private equity and venture capital clients. Iler was also the audit lead for Deloitte's Growth Enterprise Services team in San Francisco. … Jennifer Compean has joined HMWC CPAs & Business Advisors as a senior staff accountant. … Eve Dreyfuss and Kevin Hasegawa have joined the Silicon Valley office of Moss Adams as partners. … Mark Umemoto has been promoted to tax principal at Sobul, Primes & Schenkel. A member of the firm since 2007, Umemoto has significant taxation experience with a strong emphasis in the real estate arena. Prior to joining the firm, Umemoto spent 10 years at a large Los Angeles accounting firm where he honed his skills as a tax expert.

CONNECTICUT

William Claffey was promoted to tax partner at Fiondella, Milone & LaSaracina. In addition to serving as Director of State Tax Services, Claffey provides valuable tax credit services to the firm’s clients, saving them in excess of $20 million since joining the firm.

ILLINOIS

Tom Krehbiel has been named partner-in-charge of CPA services at Sikich. Krehbiel, a CPA and Certified Information Systems Auditor, previously served as the partner-in-charge of CPA services at the firm’s Springfield office and as that office’s partner-in-charge. He has more than 28 years of experience serving clients in all industries, and he offers assurance and advisory services, nonprofit audit and accounting services and information technology risk management services. He specializes in performing Service Organization Controls 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 engagements.

MAINE

Baker Newman Noyes’ tax practice has hired interns for the spring 2015 semester throughout the firm. New interns include; Seth Baker, Brad Coletta, Ryan Dubois, Megan Elliott, John Finegan, Danielle Hansen, Kelsey Livermore, Nathaniel Marcet, Casey O’Neill, Joseph Smith, Tyler Stephens, Katie Tracy and Mikala Varela.

MONTANA

Anderson ZurMuehlen’s shareholders, Jan Schweitzer, Suzanne Severin, Kyla Stafford, and Gordy Thompson were promoted to office vice-presidents.

NEW JERSEY

Man Lee has been promoted to principal at Nisivoccia. Lee is a member of the Governmental Entity Group and specializes in performing audits for county and municipal governments, school districts, as well as libraries and fire districts. Her technical expertise also includes conducting single audits of federal and state grants in accordance with the Single Audit Act and OMB Circular A-133. Man received both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Business Administration from the University of Scranton. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Man is active in the firm's Accounting and Auditing Quality Control Committee and is a regular instructor at firm sponsored Continuing Professional Education classes. Christabel Valladares was also promoted to principal at the firm. Valladares is member of the Commercial Audit Group where she specializes in providing audit, attest, tax and business consulting services for both profit and not-for-profit clients. Her expertise also includes conducting Service Organization Controls audits or internal control attestation engagements. Valladares received her Bachelor of Commerce & Master of Commerce degrees in Accounting from the University of Mumbai. She also received an MBA in Accounting, Finance & Management Information Systems from the University of Scranton and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Valladares is active in the firm's Accounting and Auditing Quality Control Committee, the Nisivoccia LLP Young Professionals Group as well as the Young Professionals of Sussex County.

Peter DiNunzio has become certified as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. … Frank Napolitani has joined EisnerAmper as a director in the Asset Management Group within the Financial Services practice. … David Rottkamp, a partner and the Not-for-Profit Practice Leader at Grassi & Co., has been named the partner-In-charge of the firm’s New York City office. … Brad McKinney has joined as Andersen Tax as managing director in the New York City office. McKinney will be joining the Private Client Services group. Prior to Andersen Tax, McKinney was a partner at Raich Ende Malter & Co. in the firm’s Private Wealth Services Group. He specializes in providing consulting services to high net worth individuals, fiduciary and estate planning, and multi-generational family income tax planning, global tax planning and wealth transfer services. Before his time at Raich Ende Malter & Co. McKinney was a partner with a regional accounting firm, and held advisory positions at PwC.

OHIO

Jim Sharvin has joined the Columbus, OH, office of Clark Schaefer Hackett as a tax principal. Sharvin works with small- and mid-market businesses, as well as high-net-worth individuals, to provide tax planning and compliance services. He is familiar with a variety of industries, including healthcare, not-for-profit and real estate, and specializes in asset management, estate planning, real estate syndications, financial planning, and the complexities of the professional athlete. … Jennifer Hertzig, a marketing director at BCG & Co., has been named as the recipient of the 2015 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award for Akron.

PENNSYLVANIA

Steven Packer has been promoted to senior manager of business development and client relations at Duane Morris in the firm's tax accounting group. … Kyle Levengood has been promoted to manager at Herbein in the firm’s accounting and auditing department.

SOUTH CAROLINA

John Clint Bates has been promoted to tax manager at SuggsJohnson. Bates is an Anderson, South Carolina native who joined SuggsJohnson as a Tax Accountant in 2008. In his role as Tax Manager, he provides tax consulting and compliance services to individuals and closely held businesses. He focuses on tax planning and compliance, financial statements including compilations and reviews, and non-profit formation/filings. Bates earned a degree in Business Administration/Accounting from The Citadel in 2008. He is a licensed CPA in South Carolina and an active member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, where he serves as chair of the CPA Leadership Institute Alumni. He was selected as a Commerce Clearing House Emerging Leader, and is actively involved in the community through the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way and the YMCA.
