ALABAMA

Jangkeun (Paul) Han has been promoted to the national service leader for the Korean Business Services at Rödl Warren Averett LLC, Montgomery. The firm also promoted Yong Seok Kwon as the director of Korean Business Services.

ARIZONA

Ron Eagle was honored by the board of the Information Technology Alliance with the title of president emeritus designation.

CALIFORNIA

The California Society of CPAs honored five with its Women to Watch Awards for 2012.

In the experienced leader category, Sweeny Kovar LLP’s director Mary Kay Foss and Mowat Mackie & Anderson LLP’s partner Lorna Padia Markus. The award for emerging leaders went to Melanie Kidder, a senior manager at Frank, Rimerman & Co. LLP, and Dominique Molina, president of the American Institute of Certified Tax Coaches. CalCPA honored Moss Adams’s partner Francine Vorhees with the Trailblazer award.

CONNECTICUT

Robert H. Attmore, chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board announced that he will retire in June 2013. A former auditor and deputy comptroller for New York State, Attmore has served as GASB chairman since July 2004.

FLORIDA

Peter A. Hilera rejoins Vestal & Wiler CPA, Orlando, as partner in its tax services department.

GEORGIA

John Cummings joined Moore Colson, Atlanta, as senior manager in the firm’s Business Assurance Practice.

KENTUCKY

Catherine Graviss was promoted to staff accountant at Louis T. Roth & Co., Louisville.

MASSACHUSETTS

Mark A. Kashgegian, a partner with Gray, Gray & Gray CPA, Westwood, has been elected president of the National Franchise Consultants & Accountants, a nationwide alliance of independent accounting firms specializing in McDonald’s restaurants.

MICHIGAN

Donna Hanson, an assurance partner at Plante Moran PLLC, Auburn Hills, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and will serve through 2013. Hanson succeeds Paul Bryant, also a Plante Moran partner, who served on the MACPA board for several years. Doug Wiescinski, a partner in the firm’s Southfield office, was appointed to the Michigan Municipal Services Authority.

MISSOURI

Beth King has joined Stone Carlie & Company LLC, Clayton, as senior manager of assurance services and the leader of Stone Carlie’s not-for-profit services group.

NEW YORK

Nicole Booth has been hired as a quality control manager for the Professional Excellence Team within The Bonadio Group, Pittsford. Prior to Bonadio Group, Booth worked as a tax manager with Insero & Company. … Marco Pace has rejoined KPMG LLP, New York, as a principal in the firms Economic and Valuation Services practice. Prior to returning to KPMG, Pace was the vice president of international tax at Thomson Reuters. …Christine Oliver was appointed shareholder at Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte PC, Albany. Oliver, who’s been with the firm for more than 25 years, previously served as a partner, a title she held for six years. …Walter Harris has joined alliantgroup, New York, as director of IRS practice and procedure. Prior to alliantgroup, Harris worked as a senior level executive at the IRS in New York. He left his post in June after spending 31 years with the agency. … EisnerAmper LLP, New York, added new principals and partners throughout the firm. Jordan Amin, Dov Braun, Patterson Chiweshe, Courtney Gordon, Mark Sabates and Barbara Taibi joined as partners. Dan Yu joined the firm's Wealth Management division as principal.

NEW JERSEY

The PhD Project, Montvale, a program to increase diversity in management, announced the 2012 inductees into its PhD Project Hall of Fame. Recipients include, Dr. Carolyn M. Callahan, KPMG Distinguished Professor and Director, School of Accountancy, University of Memphis and Steven Ross-Hugh Culverhouse Chair of Accountancy, University of Alabama. The Hall of Fame’s inductees will be honored at the organization’s annual conference in November.

OHIO

Erin Linder joined SS&G Inc., Columbus, as an associate in the firm’s tax department. Prior to SS&G, Linder worked at Messer Construction as a staff accountant. The firm also brought on Emma Harvey as a bookkeeper in its entrepreneurial services group. Prior to SS&G, Harvey worked at Blue and Co. LLC as a business service specialist. In the firm’s Cincinnati office, Linda Weigand joins as manager in the tax department. Prior to SS&G, Weigand worked at Clarke Schaefer Hackett as a tax specialist. The office also added Aaron Schenker as an associate in the assurance department. He previously held an internship at the firm’s Illinois location. In Cleveland, SS&G added Kevin White as an associate in its assurance department. He also completed an internship with SS&G prior to joining the firm. Gregory Miller was hired as an associate in the tax department. Prior to SS&G, he worked as a tax staff accountant at Maloney & Novotny LLC. Nicole Dornhecker was hired as a billing specialist in the firm’s health care services joint venture SS&G Healthcare Services. … Adam Titus, a team member at Brady Ware & Co., Dayton, passed the Financial Accounting and Reporting section of the CPA exam. Adam is a 2010 graduate of California State University Dominguez Hills and joined the firm in December 2010. Robert Williamson, an ABL auditor at the firm, passed the Business Environment and Concepts section of the CPA exam. Williamson joined the firm in July 2009 and was promoted to senior accountant in August 2012.

PENNSYLVANIA

Ivan Cilik, Deborah Hayward, Mary Seng and John Walsh were recognized as Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ 40 Under 40: Members to Watch 2012-2013 class. ...Steven Wolf has been promoted to partner at Herbein + Company Inc., Reading.

TENNESSEE

Brian Masterson and Bryan Follis have joined KPMG LLP, Nashville, as directors. Prior to joining KPMG, Masterson was a tax partner at Venable LLP. Follis started his career at the firm, and later worked as a senior manager in the Nashville office of another international public accounting firm before re-joining KPMG as a director.

WISCONSIN

Kolb+Co. Brookfield, added six full time employees. Brian Kelley was hired as a state and local tax senior manager, Jessica Burg as tax staff accountant, while Matt Cimpl, Michael Heritsch, Chirs Konz and Elizabeth Uecker as auditing and accounting staff accountants.
