Porte Brown Merges in Alliant Advisors

Chicago-area accounting firm Porte Brown LLC has merged in Alliant Advisors, effective Nov. 1, 2015.

Alliant Advisors, with offices in Barrington, Huntley, Wauconda and Lake Geneva, Ill., will operate under the Porte Brown name in its current locations and plans to consolidate into the Porte Brown McHenry office by the end of this year.

“Porte Brown is entrepreneurial in nature and always looking for smart growth opportunities,” said Porte Brown managing partner Bruce Jones in a statement. “Alliant Advisors’ commitment to helping clients accomplish their goals reflects our objective when we established Porte Brown almost 70 years ago. We share the same philosophy of emphasizing long-term relationships."

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Porte Brown ranked 21st on Accounting Today’s 2015 Regional Leaders list for the Great Lakes region, with $17.6 million in annual revenue.

Alliant Advisors specializes in offering financial, strategic and business operations expertise for private companies. Its consulting services include accounting, tax, business advisory, business valuations and exit planning.

“The Alliant team is excited to join forces with Porte Brown,” said Alliant Advisors managing partner David Bunge. “We have been serving clients since 1986 and offer a unique approach that focuses on business and personal success and the full business lifecycle. From our very first meeting with the Porte Brown team we knew we were on the same page.”

Both firms are in the process of contacting their clients to inform them of the change and answer questions they may have about the transition.
