PwC Adds Risk Assurance Partner

Erik Hansen has joined Big Four firm PwC US as a partner in the risk assurance services practice overseeing internal audit services for the Greater Houston region, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.

"With more than 20 years of accounting, auditing and advisory experience, Erik is well-versed on the complex issues related to internal audit that are critical for companies to holistically assess risks across their organizations," said Dean Simone, leader of PwC's U.S. risk assurance practice. "His extensive experience working with large, multinational companies and SEC registrants in the energy arena will bring added value to serving our clients in the Greater Houston region, and we are very pleased to welcome him to PwC."

Prior to joining PwC, Hansen was a partner with KMPG, where he led several enterprise risk assessment engagements. He has served companies in the oil and gas industry on issues related to internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing solutions, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley assistance and other risk and control-related services. He has also served as an internal audit director at the Walt Disney Co.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary.
