Ramp rolls out product for accountants

Spend management software provider Ramp announced the rollout of a product built for accounting professionals, Ramp for Accounting Firms.

The centerpiece of the product is the Advisor Console, where accountants can manage all of their Ramp clients in one place. Users can navigate between different client accounts and assign staff to specific clients to encourage data privacy. For security reasons, every Advisory Console user will have their own unified login to facilitate auditing and revoking staff access.

Users will also be able to access the larger Ramp platform, which offers corporate cards, bill payments, expense management, reporting and accounting in one place. Accountants can use payment extensions for invoices to manage client assets while making sure vendors are paid on time. Payments and vendor details on the platform automatically sync with the professional's accounting or ERP system.

The software integrates with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct and Xero, enabling users to amortize bills, report on sales tax, and sync transactions in multiple currencies within NetSuite, as well as connect multiple entities (via Sage or NetSuite) with Ramp. In the future, users will be able to take advantage of advanced accounting rules, allowing for further automation through conditional coding of transactions.

Accounting firm partners will receive benefits including:

  • A partner rewards program that allows accountants to receive aggregated client insights, referral payouts and co-marketing opportunities;
  • An advisor directory for generating leads through marketing services to existing Ramp clients (for silver-level partners); and,
  • Dedicated partner support that can include instructor-led training for a firm, ongoing education, and support for onboarding new clients to Ramp.

The product initially will only be available to a closed beta group until the end of January, but will eventually be accessible by the hundreds of accounting firms already using Ramp. General availability is projected to start at the beginning of February.
