Hiring for accounting graduates is at a record level, according to a new study by the American Institute of CPAs, which also found the number of accounting graduates and enrollments in accounting education programs continuing their upward trend and reaching historic levels.

The 2013 Trends in the Supply of Accounting Graduates and the Demand for Public Accounting Recruits report, released Wednesday by the  AICPA, found that a record number of 40,350 accounting graduates were hired last year by accounting firms, and 89 percent of those firms forecast the same or increased hiring of graduates this year.
