Rootworks adds business advisory resources for firms

Rootworks, a member-based organization for accounting entrepreneurs, began offering a collection of business advisory resources Tuesday to help clients start a new company.

The collection includes a structured course to support accounting firms in packaging, selling and delivering “Business Foundation Services.” The advisory engagement services can help clients who want to launch a business, including choosing an entity type and retirement plan, along with setting up accounting software for the business and training employees.

The structured course gives firms a step-by-step guide to launching such services. The collection includes PowerPoint presentations on entity type selection, retirement plan selection, and accounting software setup and training. It also comes with comparison sheets to help clients choose an entity type and retirement plan for their business, a fee calculator built around the value-billing model, and a set of marketing communications materials. Rootworks plans to develop additional collections to help its member firms offer other types of advisory services.

“Our primary goal at Rootworks is to continually identify ways to fuel our member firms’ success,” said Rootworks CEO Darren Root in a statement. “This new offering is another representation of our continued commitment to this goal.”
