Top 100 Firm RSM US presented the Davis Love Foundation with a check this month for $2,035,206 as a result of the firm’s staff-led "Birdies Fore Love" campaign, a charitable effort that works in conjunction with the RSM Classic charity golf tournament.

Birdies Fore Love, RSM’s charitable platform of the RSM Classic, matched staff donations with contributions from the RSM US Foundation. Funds went toward various nonprofit organizations, ranging from groups focusing on education and quality of life for families, to relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria victims.

“RSM and the game of golf share many of the same core values, including stewardship,” stated Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of RSM US. “It has been our honor to sponsor the RSM Classic for the past eight years and to support the local Sea Island community, as well as communities across the country where our 9,000 people live and work, through the tournament. The philanthropic aspect of the game truly resonates with our people, who take their responsibility of giving back seriously.”

“Stewardship has been one of RSM’s core values since the firm was founded more than 90 years ago,” said Doug Opheim, CFO of RSM US and chairman of the RSM US Foundation, per a statement. “Our people are some of the most charitable and kind-hearted people I’ve ever met, and they love a good challenge. Our goal this year was to meet or exceed the $1.5 million we raised last year for Birdies Fore Love, and you can see that they far exceeded that amount. It’s a pleasure to support our people’s efforts with the match from the RSM US Foundation.”

Additional proceeds from the RSM Classic are distributed by the Davis Love Foundation to family-centered organizations. Established in 2005 by professional golfer and Team RSM member Davis Love III and his wife Robin, the foundation sees the RSM Classic as its largest fundraiser.

“We are thankful to partner with RSM and its incredible people each year – not only to bring world-class golf to Georgia’s Golden Isles, but to combine our efforts to give back to so many deserving charities,” said Davis Love III, in a statement. “Every year, those involved in this event – players, their families, caddies, sponsors, volunteers, RSM employees and staff, media partners and the Sea Island and DLF Foundation teams amaze me with their dedication and commitment to the success and mission of this event.”
