Sage Debuts Nonprofit Online Community

Sage North America has launched the Sage Nonprofit Online Community, a Web location for the company’s nonprofit and government customers, business partners, employees, and others to connect and share best practices and information.

Sage’s Nonprofit Solutions group currently works with more than 32,000 unique not-for-profit organizations in the U.S. and Canada through products such as Sage MIP and Fundraising.

To date, the Sage Nonprofit Online Community has attracted more than 1,000 members. The site features a blog, forums, technology tools, industry news, articles, webcasts and white papers. It also features job postings to help nonprofit organizations fill positions with qualified talent.

“In addition to helping us stay connected to our customers, the Sage Nonprofit Online Community gives not-for-profits across North America a valuable opportunity to network, share ideas, and seek advice from their most trusted resource — each other,” said Sage Nonprofit Solutions senior vice president and general manager Krista Endsley. “The community is about more than products and services. It’s about organizations collectively growing and learning from each other to accomplish their missions.”

Sage Nonprofit Solutions director of product marketing Heather Burton noted that the way nonprofit groups get their funding often determines which tools are important to them, but most can benefit from Web-based software. “At some point, yes, they need an accounting system too, but they need e-mail and they need to build a Web site,” she said. “Portals are also becoming very important to help collaborate.”

In addition to its own online community, Sage participates as a donor company in TechSoup Global, a San Francisco-based online resource that provides nongovernmental organizations, nonprofits, libraries, and community-based organizations with professional hardware, software and services.
