Sage Rolls Out Latest CRM System

As part of its annual partner conference, Insights 2007, Sage Software launched a new version of its SalesLogix customer relationship management system.

SalesLogix 7.2, the 10th edition of Sage’s “best-of-breed” CRM application, now includes a multi-client architecture that supports a variety of mobile uses. The new version supports Web, mobile and Windows interfaces, with the mobile interface allowing for data-charting on BlackBerry devices and support for Windows Mobile and Smartphone devices.

“It’s all about customization,” said Larry Ritter, vice president of product management for SagesLogix. “Most customers are living in a multi-client environment, [so] we invented a multi-client architecture that brings together the ability to develop things for BlackBerry or for Windows Mobile or the Web in one place.”

Typical users of SalesLogix, according to Ritter, are those who value something about their business, like a specific selling model or a specific experience, and want to model and capture that workflow in a CRM system.

SalesLogix also includes a visual analyzer that provides business information such as key performance indicators, forecasting information, opportunity management and marketing displays through 10 interactive and customizable dashboards. And in an effort to enhance the user experience, the new version includes an interface with drag-and-drop tabs, middle-pane navigation and minimal screen refresh.

“Most of the customizations can be accomplished without code now, and that is very new and very different,” Ritter said. “You don’t have to be a programmer to do this. We have courses on it, our business partners are trained in it, and believe it or not, a number of these things our users can do themselves.”

SalesLogix 7.2 (starting at $795 per user license) and SalesLogix Mobile 5 (starting at $295 per user license) will be available June 15. SalesLogix Visual Analyzer is now available for $400 per user license. More information is available at www.sagecrmsolutions.com.
